 According to many sources, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma may compete in the 2018 Duleep Trophy, making it an event to remember. Numerous additional Indian regulars are expected to compete in the local event, which is slated to begin on September 5, despite the fact that their participation has not yet been confirmed.

West Zone chose to bat first and scored 769 runs in all. During the Sri Lankan trip, Abhishek, who was wearing the assistant coach's headgear, scored 259 runs. In the opening innings, Rohit amassed 63 runs.

North Zone, captained by Virat, had a poor day in the field as they were dismissed for 294 runs. With the same number of balls, the captain scored 56. A year later, Virat made his Test debut.

West Zone batted again and failed to impose the follow-on. In their second innings, Rohit struck a spectacular 116 off 129 balls. Before the game finished in a tie, West Zone scored 345/7 thanks to a century by Cheteshwar Pujara.

Based on their leads in the opening innings, West Zone advanced to the championship game. If the game is tied at the conclusion, the team with the first innings advances to the next round. In order to win the title, West Zone outscored South Zone by 536 in the final. Rohit was not included in the outcome.
